Searchcraft Core

Your search. Your servers. Your data.

Install Searchcraft Core

Searchcraft Core ships as a multi-architecture container image. Run it with Docker on any platform, or natively on macOS with Apple's container tool.

Docker

Pull the image

docker pull searchcraftinc/searchcraft-core:latest

Run the container

docker run --name searchcraft -p 8000:8000 -v ~/searchcraft-index:/opt/index searchcraftinc/searchcraft-core:latest

Add -it -d to run it in detached mode. -v persists your index data to ~/searchcraft-index on the host, so it survives container restarts and upgrades.

The image is a multi-architecture image for arm64 and amd64. When you docker pull on the destination system the appropriate platform will be selected. Full environmental variable configuration options are listed in the documentation.

Apple container (macOS)

Prerequisites

A Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 26 or later, and Apple's container CLI installed via Homebrew. Start the container system service once after installing.

brew install container
container system start

Run the container

container run -d --name searchcraft -p 8000:8000 -v ~/searchcraft-index:/opt/index searchcraftinc/searchcraft-core:latest

-d runs the container in detached mode. -v persists your index data to ~/searchcraft-index on the host, so it survives container restarts and upgrades.
